Come See View at AIA

At View we often speak of our mission to create a better built-environment with future-proofed buildings that put people at the center of sustainability. So it is with excitement that we descend on Philadelphia with our industry-leading, 6-foot by 10-foot dynamic glass, for AIA Convention 2016, the premier architecture and design event of the year put on by The American Institute of Architects.

A fantastic feature of this year’s event is the second annual AIA COTE Top Ten for students and View is proud to sponsor. The American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment (AIA COTE), in partnership with the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) recently selected the recipients of these prestigious awards. As part of our forward-looking mission, we’re confident that the work of these student architects will have significant impact on tomorrow’s built-environment.

The competition recognizes ten exceptional studio projects that seamlessly integrate innovative, regenerative strategies within their broader design concepts. The program challenged students to submit projects that use a thoroughly integrated approach to architecture, natural systems, and technology to provide architectural solutions that protect and enhance the environment.

The projects will be on view at the American Institute of Architects Annual Convention in Philadelphia, PA (May 2016) and the 105th ACSA Annual Meeting in Detroit, MI (March 2017).

And if you’re at AIA, come visit View at booth 1409 to EXPERIENCE dynamic glass in a whole new way.

And as The Valley makes its annual pilgrimage to Austin later this week, we here at View couldn’t be more excited to announce that View Intelligence has been selected as a finalist in the Smart Cities category for the 19th annual SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards.

We’re particularly honored to be recognized by SXSW because this award highlights innovations in eco-friendly or sustainable energy, transportation, and IoT technology, making life in the connected world a smarter, cleaner, greener, and more efficient Internet of Everything. CenturyLink Has a Happier Workforce with View

Monroe, Louisiana is a beautiful, small town with big heart. It’s also home to CenturyLink, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the United States, and an organization committed to improving the wellness of their most valuable asset: their people.

Because the company culture is focused on it’s employees, they set out to create a space that would make for a happier, more productive workforce, while attracting top talent and meeting their eco-friendly standards. By incorporating 37,000 square feet of View Dynamic Glass, CentruyLink was able to accomplish just that.

CenturyLink uses their beautiful new facilities to show employees and customers its commitment to excellence, wellness, and technology by choosing advanced electrochromic technology that aligns with its vision of making the center as technologically advanced as possible. The facility was designed and built to meet LEED Silver certification.

“Every architect dreams of designing buildings that harmonize with the environment and provide the best occupant experience,” says Dan Picket, principal architect at Moody Nolan, the firm leading the planning, development and design of the project. “Dynamically adjusting window glass has been known to be the game changer in building design, but remained the ‘technology of the future’ for a long time. We are pleased that View has executed on its product and operations to make this remarkable product the ‘technology of the present.’ We are excited to be designing multiple projects with View Dynamic Glass as the basis of design.”

“We expect the center to spur innovation, idea generation, and problem solving that will benefit our customers, our employees, and the communities we serve,” says CEO and President Glen F. Post, III.

Take a look at the new CenturyLink Technology center with View Dynamic Glass in one of our latest videos.

Levi’s® Stadium, Home of the San Francisco 49ers, Gets View Dynamic Glass

The Big Game has finally arrived and View is excited to share the news that attendees of this weekend’s big match up will be able to see our dynamic glass in action as they head into LEED Gold Levi’s® Stadium this weekend.

It’s only fitting that the most technologically advanced stadium in professional football would be the first in the world to incorporate electrochromic glass into their state-of-the-art facility. Located in Santa Clara, California, just down the street from View’s Milpitas headquarters, the 18-month-old iconic home of the San Francisco 49ers continues to demonstrate leadership in technology, sustainability, and fan experience by incorporating market-leading, innovative technologies like View Dynamic Glass.

The installation of View Dynamic Glass underscores the commitment of Levi’s® Stadium to maintaining a leading-edge, environmentally responsible stadium to continually enhance the fan experience. Approximately sixty percent of the attendees of all events at Levi’s® Stadium will see the dynamic glass as they ascend the Gate A escalators to take their seats.

“Levi’s Stadium was built to be a manifestation of the Bay Area and Silicon Valley, and the 49ers organization has made every effort to be a leader in technology and sustainability,” said San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York. “We continuously invest significant time and effort to enhance the in-game experience. View Dynamic Glass is a perfect fit for us to ensure that we show our fans and the world what’s possible.”

We’re proud to share a passion for sustainable building and creating better occupant experiences with our Silicon Valley neighbors.

“Levi’s Stadium delivers a superior fan experience through technology and innovation, and that aligns perfectly with View’s mission and goals,” said Rao Mulpuri, CEO of View. “This installation is a great showcase of the technology, sustainability and wellness benefits that View delivers. We’re excited to partner with an organization that is strongly committed to setting the standard for modern stadiums.”

View’s Brandon Tinianov Joins the USGBC Advisory Council. (And we’re super proud!)

We’re not afraid to admit it… We’ve assembled a pretty incredible team here at View. (Pssst. We’re hiring if you want in!)

Many of the stars here are also influential leaders and contributors to the communities surrounding our mission to create better buildings. And one of our brightest stars is VP of Business Development, Brandon Tinianov.

Today we’re excited to share the news that he has joined the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Advisory Council. (← This is a big deal!)

In this USGBC position, Brandon will leverage his industry leadership and perspective to help support the USGBC Board of Directors’ efforts in promoting environmental and social responsibility around the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated.

Brandon, who happens to be a genuinely terrific guy, is a passionate advocate of the mission that USGBC represents and said, “I’m honored to join the ranks of the leading minds in green building and look forward to working together to advance the global sustainability movement.”

As Advisory Council member with both technical expertise and robust connections to the green building community, Brandon, and his fellow volunteer leaders, will help to shape the USGBC’s agenda and scope of work. As an ambassador for green building, Brandon will also be charged with spearheading new initiatives and advocating for advanced design standards including the WELL and GRESB standards.

“Brandon’s years of industry expertise and leadership will be an invaluable resource for USGBC and our mission,” said Rick Fedrizzi, CEO and founding chair of USGBC. “The USGBC Advisory Council’s sound advisement will play a critical role in the advancement of the green building movement worldwide as we work toward creating greener buildings, greener cities and a more sustainable future.”

“All of us at View are proud of Brandon’s election to the USGBC Advisory Council,” said Rao Mulpuri, CEO of View. “Throughout his career, Brandon has been a major advocate of the value that technology plays in creating high performance buildings. He has a strong pulse on the green building industry, and brings a creative and strategic mind to his day-to-day work. We know he’ll be a compelling driver of USGBC’s mission.”

USGBC’s highest-level customer engagement platform, the Advisory Council recommends policy and initiatives to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors and Advisory Council will serve as the two leading bodies of USGBC, a new governance structure that implemented this year.

To mark Brandon’s appointment, View invites Bay Area CRE and Green Building leaders to join our celebration in San Francisco on February 11, 2016. For those interested in additional details, and to RSVP, email robyn.hannah@view.com.

And in the mean time, you can follow Brandon and View on Twitter to keep up on all the exciting things happening in occupant-focused building design in 2016!
