Sea-Tac Delta Sky Club Guests Enjoy Views of Mount Rainier with View Dynamic Glass

On October 20, View joined Delta to celebrate the grand opening of its newest Delta Sky Club in the Seattle-Tacoma (Sea-Tac) International Airport. The new lounge (the second Delta Sky Club at Sea-Tac thanks to growing demand) includes View Dynamic Glass as one of the curated amenities Delta provides for the comfort of its guests.

The more than 7,500 square foot installation showcases what a perfect fit View is for airports. It provides an enhanced passenger experience between flights by managing heat and glare from the sun, and enables travelers to enjoy uninterrupted views of the breathtaking surroundings, in this case Mount Rainier, Washington state’s tallest mountain.

The stylish new Sea-Tac lounge ranks among the five largest Delta Sky Clubs at 21,000 square feet, and will comfortably seat 400 customers across two spacious levels. Research suggests that views and natural daylight help increase wellness for occupants, and this installation underscores Delta’s commitment to create a more thoughtful airport environment.

View celebrates with Overstock.com at the New Peace Coliseum

Friday the 14th was a day of smiles and celebration in Salt Lake City, Utah. Overstock.com opened their stylish, new headquarters with a colorful ceremony and not a little fanfare.

View’s CEO, Rao Mulpuri, took part in the opening ceremony and demonstrated with his local sales team why View Dynamic Glass was chosen to be an integral part of the project. A day of celebration with Overstock employees and their families followed. It’s easy to see why everyone looked so happy.

This will be THE place to work in Salt Lake City, or as Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne said: it will be “..the coolest place to work in Utah.”

A variety of vendors set up stalls to show their wares and innovation, give away samples and prizes, and View was no different, using virtual reality to show the building’s new employees what they can expect when you throw away blinds and shades and embrace the stunning mountain views, without the heat and glare of course!

The three-story circular building looks like a peace sign from above, hence the name Peace Coliseum. The new Peace Coliseum will be a hive of activity as the headquarters of Overstock, but the beautiful design and amenities mean that employees feel a sense of wellness (the campus includes cafes featuring healthy food, a gym, a doctor-staffed health clinic and a daycare) and yes, a sense of peace. As View CEO, Rao Mulpuri commented “All 1,500 employees will enjoy beautiful views, no blinds! This is how buildings should be built.”

The Alliance to Save Energy Names View The Innovative Star of Energy Efficiency

2016 has been a year of milestones for View. We’ve hit some record numbers, added key leadership to a growing team, and we’re helping thousands of people across North America experience the benefits of life without blinds and shades.

We’ve been thrilled by the rapid adoption and market demand we’ve experienced and we’re so honored to share with you yet another exciting piece of news: The Alliance to Save Energy has announced View is the 2016 Innovative Star of Energy Efficiency award recipient for our commercialization of energy-efficient dynamic glass.

The Star of Energy Efficiency awards celebrate individuals, companies, organizations, government programs and educational institutions that have made notable contributions to advance energy efficiency in their respective fields and the View team is extremely proud to be recognized with this prestigious honor.

We deeply believe in sustainable building and innovation with a focus on delighted occupants who can work more productively, heal more quickly, learn more efficiently, and enjoy the many benefits daylighting affords human beings.

The View team is incredibly mission-driven, with the occupant experience always at the heart of our work.

Dr. Rao Mulpuri, CEO of View said, “We are honored to have earned the Innovative Star of Energy Efficiency award. We are committed to creating intelligent buildings that benefit the environment and delight occupants. View Dynamic Glass will redefine the energy efficiency characteristics of buildings while inspiring creativity, promoting wellness, and enhancing productivity. We’re proud of the accelerating adoption of View Dynamic Glass and industry support we’ve experienced, and look forward to building on this momentum.”

Rahul Bammi, CMO of View, accepted the Innovative Star of Energy Efficiency Award on behalf of View. “View has pioneered the large-scale commercialization of dynamic glass. We make intelligent and connected windows that tint in response to the environment and user preferences, to deliver both significant energy efficiency and to provide an enhanced occupant experience. Our role in the world of energy efficiency is doubly impactful – we can shave peak demand and deliver an average of 20% energy savings PLUS we also serve as a feature, an amenity, that can improve the lives of people by enabling everyone to experience more natural daylight as nature intended even while we are indoors. This can lead to a more comfortable, happier and more productive workplace.”

Winners of the Alliance to Save Energy’s 24th Annual Star of Energy Efficiency Awards were honored at the Alliance to Save Energy’s 24th annual Evening with the Stars of Energy Efficiency awards dinner on September 22, 2016 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, DC.

View Completes 200 Projects and Secures the Largest Dynamic Glass Installation in the World

From our booth at AIA, the View team is excited to share some milestone news this week!

We’ve completed more than 200 projects in North America, and have an additional 100+ projects currently in various stages of development. With over 12,000 occupants enjoying View Dynamic Glass across 7 million square feet of space everyday, we’re seeing significant growth, market adoption, and deeper awareness. The installations span all major geographic markets in North America across the workplace, education, hospitality, and healthcare segments.

“Our mission has been to create a delightful occupant experience, and I am proud of the View team for delivering on this promise at ever larger scale,” said View CEO Rao Mulpuri. “The continued advances we’ve made in developing our dynamic glass, coupled with aggressive investments in manufacturing ramp and regional support, are enabling us to execute on large-scale projects. We’re thrilled with the strong industry support and accelerating adoption of View Dynamic Glass.”

View also announced that it will install 100,000 square feet of View Dynamic Glass at USAA Real Estate Company’s America Center II, developed by SteelWave and located in San Jose, California. This project will mark the largest installation of electrochromic glass in the world. This landmark installation underscores View’s continued momentum, growth, and innovation as it scales its technology to larger projects.

“The America Center project is designed to be a leading state of the art campus,” said Steve Dunn, senior managing director at SteelWave, the project’s developer/owner. “View Dynamic Glass has been key in enabling us to realize that goal by providing a technology that improves occupant comfort, wellness, and productivity. Energy efficiency was also a major driver and View helped us reach ambitious sustainability targets and become pre-certified at the LEED Gold level.”

Research has shown that views and natural daylight help increase productivity and wellness for building occupants. And View Dynamic Glass also reduces HVAC and lighting energy consumption by as much as 20 percent, and HVAC peak load by 25 percent, in a typical commercial installation.

“After a year of working in CenturyLink’s Technology Center that is surrounded by View Dynamic Glass, our 750 employees continue to thrive in this building of the future,” said LaRae Dodson, vice president of real estate and fleet for CenturyLink. “The ultimate aim of our Technology Center in Monroe, Louisiana, is to inspire employees to develop the next generation of innovative communications products and services for our customers and View helps fuel this inspiration by preserving our perspective of the outdoors and permitting natural daylight to permeate the office.”
