This compilation CD (which is also available as a download), entitled Out & Out Jazz, displays some of the very best untraditional Jazz music, recorded specifically for the Arkadia Jazz and Postcards. We chose music that had real appeal to the head, the heart, the mind and soul… music that stirs our emotions with it's colors, textures, density, and space. This music represents the continual spirit of the “New Thing.” Call it whatever you want: Out, New Thing, Free, Avant-Garde, or Experimental. While some believe this music became extinct, the creative process never stops. It may pass under the radar of mass audiences, but sometimes the most meaningful & intense conversations are private ones.
Arkadia Records want to show the world that modern Jazz doesn't have to be inaccessible, hard-to-find, high-priced music that only a select few can enjoy.
