We took this gig with the intention of making a recording.
But once we decided to record, we were pleasantly surprised by the results, which
came on the very last day of our tour. By then we had a really good feeling for
everything that we were doing. I look forward to more tours and recording sessions with
this personnel.
It is my distinct pleasure to have met someone who truly
loves jazz, one who is not only totally dedicated to the music, but to those heroes who
keep stretching and reaching into the darkness of the unknown in an attempt to continue
moving the music forward, one who does not merely sit at his desk, but frequents every
possible place where jazz occures. In his ubiquity, he remains, au courant on
every level, which tends to encourage and support. This man is Bob Karcy of Arkadia
Records — a breath of fresh air to an asphyxiating world. Would that there were
more like him.
